Several members of TSU will be attending the Association of American Geographers annual conference in Boston, 5-9 April 2017.

Dr Tim Schwanen will present the paper, "The Multiple Timespaces of Adapting Everyday Life to Flooding: Experiences in disadvantaged neighbourhoods in Manila" on Friday, 7 April at 17:40, for the session, "The Controversial Limits of DRR R&A (3): Exploring the temporal dimensions of disasters and DRR."

Tim is a co-organiser of the symposium "Advances in Analyzing Contextual Effects on Behavior, Practice and Experience". He will also chair the sessions "Advances in Analyzing Contextual Effects on Behavior, Practice and Experience I." at 8:00 on 7 and "Advances in Analyzing Contextual Effects on Behavior, Practice and Experience II." at 10.00 on 7.

He will also chair the session "Uncertainty and Context in Geography and GIScience Featured Theme opening Plenary," on Thursday 6 April at 10.00 and is a panellist for the session, "Uncertainty and Context in Geography and GIScience Featured Theme Closing Plenary," chaired by Professor Mei-Po Kwan at 11:50 on Saturday 8 April.

Dr Denver Nixon will present "Community-led Infrastructures: Grassroots walking and cycling innovations in London" at the session "Building Blocks and Values in Infrastructure: Understanding agency, normativity, directionality & change," at 10am on Wednesday, 5 April, and chair a session entitled, "Critical Perspectives on Mobility Safety," at 13:20 on Saturday 8 of April.

Rafael Pereira will present the paper "Transport legacy of mega-events and inequality in access to opportunities." on Friday 7 April at 18.20, for the session "Spatial Inequality, Justice and Policy IV: America".

Anna Davidson will present her paper "Howling with the Psycos: Los Angeles ridden otherwise" as part of the "Emotions and Practicing Everyday Urban Spaces" session on Saturday 8 April at 10.00.
